About the Hike:

Triple Falls is a collective name for three pretty little cascades named Proteus Falls, Erebus Falls, and Evans Falls. Visiting them is very quick and easy, so it makes a good side trip for someone visiting nearby Hitchcock Falls or Appalachia Waterfalls. The trail starts right at the brook. The first cascade you will encounter is Proteus Falls. This cascade drops through a deep gorge and slides down a rock staircase. The trail gets steep after this and climbs up over the gorge. The second cascade is Erebus Falls. This cascade is the highlight of the hike, as it is the largest and most impressive. The water slides over a rock slab and into the gorge below. The last of the three is Evans Falls. Evans Falls is the smallest, but is still interesting. It angles off the side of a rock and then flows into a small pool.
